Meet Home Stylist {Home Magic-Maker} Heather Sanders

{Design Philosophy}

Heather Sanders, founder of The ReStyle Group is passionate about making design approachable and fun. She focuses on helping clients transform (or in many cases, finish) the spaces they live in. Her philosophy differs from traditional design: she rarely ditches everything, instead working around what the client owns and loves, hunting for a combination of high style and low cost options creating the desired ‘look for less’. Heather believes in an open team approach to any design plan and works closely with the homeowner providing them with access to all products and specifications so that they can implement the plan within their timeline.

She believes color is the main component of any transformation, will put fabric on every window if given the opportunity, never met an accessory she didn’t like and considers lighting to be the equivalent of jewelry. Design should be fun and flexible allowing for her vision to co-exist with the budget and needs of the family she is working with.

{Quick Bio}

Heather was born with  “a good eye” and a love of homes.  She was the kid who spent hours setting up Barbie’s dream home but only minutes playing with the dolls.  Yes, houses have always been her thing.  As a former real estate agent with a niche in home renovation, rehabbing and staging she’s had the “in” on the hottest material and style trends, the secret to what buyers really want and the expertise of what is appropriate from a cost-value stand point. She is a founding member of the Restyle Group and brings a ‘budget-conscious, but make it pretty’ sensibility.

Her real estate acumen coupled with her design style & savvy marketing sense is what made the Restyle Group unique. She has been featured on Sonoran Living Live, The 202 Magazine, The Arizona Republic, The Ahwatukee Foothills News, Ahwatukee Life Magazine and The San Tan Sun News.

The ReStyle Group is focused on helping clients transform the homes they live in. The premise is simple: provide real style for real people with real budgets. Heather believes style does not always have to be expensive and is passionate about helping homeowners fall in love again with their homes. Heather lives for a good project, always has a  paint brush in hand, studies any space she enters and literally dreams of ‘what-could-be’. Her creativity and out-of-the box thinking help homeowners get from stuck and in a rut to “right-on and I love my home”.

Heather and her husband Cory have lived in Ahwatukee with their two children since 2001 in a home they renovated together. And, of course, it goes without saying that she loves to sneak in a bit of “Dear Genevieve”, “Designed to Sell” , “Rehab Addict” or “Divine Design” at the end of a long day!

{A little background on ReStyle Group}

The Restyle Group began as a team of creative, young, and savvy real estate agents
founded initially in 2005 with the conviction that ‘restyled’ (a.k.a.
‘staged’) and well-presented homes sold faster. And it was true… Until that
little event (now an ongoing event) called the recession came around the
corner. The statistics are unnerving and the writing on the wall said
only one thing to us: we needed to RE-view our passions, RE-evaluate the
market, and RE-think our direction as a group.

At the end of many long discussions, it was clear that one thing RE-mained the
same regardless of the real estate market: we have a passion for ‘all
things home’. What does that mean? Well, the bottom line is that
we’ve been doing design and home-makeovers over the past five
years, though primarily for our real estate clients. From helping
homeowners envision what a property ‘could be’ to actually assisting sellers in
pre-sale renovation, material selection and staging, this is nothing new for
us. Neither is keeping budget limitation and time constraints at the top of our
minds. We quickly RE-alized that all of this created the perfect
transition into RE-styling homes rather than RE-selling them.

Over the past five years, we agree that the happiest part of any client
project is ‘the reveal’ (to use an HGTV term). This is the moment we live
for: when the transformation is finally complete and clients
see their new space for the first time. Our newest t-shirt says
it best with a quote from one of our favorite clients after their one-day
makeover: “I HEART my home!”

Our home services include only those areas that we have expertise and experience
with: interior decorating, one room makeovers, paint & color, accessories, windows & walls, material selection & finishes, kitchen and bath renovations, and holiday décor.
